COURSE DESCRIPTION

As part of a manager’s role in supporting performance management, a manager needs to be able to set and agree on work and or developmental targets for employees. Sadly if a manager lacks skills in this area, it can turn into an annual ordeal hated by managers and employees alike.

Carried out effectively appraisals can forge good working relationships, contribute to business success and shared vision on supporting organisational targets. Learning how to plan for and carry out appraisals well is a key skill in a manager’s tool kit.

If you use an appraisal system – bringing copies of your company’s paperwork is useful during discussions along with what appraisal objectives you have been set by your manager.
